About Phil Marshall (borrowed from the Bone Tone Website):
"A few facts about Phil Marshall
All right, let's see...
Phil is English.
He was raised in Yorkshire.
He is 24 years old.
Early influences would have to include U2, Nirvana,
Lemonheads, Radiohead and, get this, Tom Waits.
The lad's a prolific songwriter. (He writes songs while
I write this.)
Three words Phil uses to describe his music:
introspective, self-styled, though-provoking. Ok, so
that's really five words, six if you stretch it.
Former member of British indie-rock stalwart, King
Rupert, from 1993-97.
Did a solo acoustic EP called 'The Atlantic Project' in
2000.
Has opened for Kula Shaker, The Longpigs, Echo's
Subcircus and Sultans of Ping.
Was nominated and won music awards in both England and the US.
Numerous appearances on BBC radio, and considerable airtime on stations in the American Midwest. Roams the boy does, like our buffalo.
Gigged extensively throughout England, Europe,
Canary Islands, and in middle America playing both
solo acoustic and with band. Gagged once, on a cheap wine cooler.
Has performed for crowds of up to 24,000. Imagine it.
Meets producer Dave Percefull in London, February
2003, at Abbey Road Studios, no less! Musically,
it's like they were separated at birth. Things naturally start to click.
The early work on 'dondonisi...' begins there, at Abbey Road. The project is completed two months later, back at yellow DOG Studios in Tulsa. Massive amounts of talent amassed to give it bollocks.
Presently supporting - with full band - 'dondonisi...' in the US and UK.
Over and out."
